My Shot at Life!

I don't sing, I don't dance, at times I feel like I can barely life! But amidst my shortcomings, I finally found something that I love as much as my kids and my family- photography. Before I jump into that, I want to thank you for at least getting this far into my website and taking the time to read my "official first blog".
I write this blog, as I sit here at work, at my desk, staring out the window into the busy streets of Downtown Los Angeles and thinking of why I started this journey and how I got to this point. As a young girl, I envisioned this job: high rise building in DTLA, making good money, 401(k) plan, and so on. It has provided me and my family with a great stability for the past 5 years, but one day I woke up from this "ideal situation" and felt something was missing. I wasn't happy. I was bored, unmotivated, and simply not challenged any longer. I miss being away from my kids and I hate racing home in traffic to make time for dinner, homework, running a home, loving my husband, and very, very little "me" time.
It wasn't without the push from my amazing husband that I decided to turn a hobby of taking pictures into an actual business. I'll be honest, it scared me to put myself out there as a "photographer" with so much competition and evolving pressure, but once I took the leap I was hooked.
I consider this, right now, the first time I have ever really taken "my shot at life", literally and figuratively. In June of this year ,and for the first time since I turned 18, I decided that I do not want a Monday through Friday, 9-5 job any longer. I have decided that I will be pursuing my photography career full time. Am I scared? Yes. Nervous? Of course. Excited? Hell yes! Its not of matter of if I succeed, but when I do, I am going to look back and know that this was the best decision I could have ever for me, for my family and for my sanity.
I am looking forward to writing more about this journey and documenting my experiences, my clients, my shortcomings, and most importantly my successes. I invite you all to follow along as I continue this journey! Thank you again for taking the time to look at my work, read my blog, and I would love to hear from you as well!
Special shout out to my husband who inspires me to always believe that the impossible is possible. To my daughters, who challenge me to be a better version of myself everyday. And to my loving and supporting family, thank you for always being there to support and love me unconditionally.
